QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – In high school basketball Friday night, Quincy swept a pair of games from the visiting Homer Trojans to cap off Oriole Week.
In the boys contest, Quincy avenged a 7-point loss at Homer on January 17th by holding off the Trojans 72-58. William Dunn led all scorers with 23 points and 14 rebounds.
Kyler Economou had 20 points and 6 boards, and Matt Hagaman had 10 points and 4 assists as the Orioles improved to 12-3 overall, and at 8-2 in the Big 8, they are a game behind league leading Reading.
Quincy also won the girls game against Homer 36-17 behind 14 points form Maddie Hinds. The Lady O’s are now 10-6 overall, 6-5 in the Big 8.
The Reading Rangers spoiled the rescheduled Hall of Fame Night at Union City’s McNett Fieldhouse with a sweep of the Chargers. Reading took the boys game 60-34, dropping Union City’s record to 2-12 overall, 0-10 in the Big 8.
The Rangers also won the girls game 49-33; the Lady Chargers are now 1-13 overall, 0-10 in the Big 8.
Bronson was swept by visiting Springport. The Spartans edged the Vikings in the boys game 41-38, dropping Bronson’s record to 4-11 overall, 1-8 in the Big 8.
In the girls contest, the Spartans prevailed 54-33 despite 15 points and 8 rebounds from Keona Salesman. The Lady Vikings fall to 9-6 overall, 6-4 in the Big 8.

Tekonsha lost their fourth consecutive game, 60-46 at Waldron. The Indians drop to 3-10 on the season.
