QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – An agreement over who gets a new fire truck if the Quincy Fire Association dissolves is scheduled to come before the Quincy Village Council Tuesday night.
The agreement involves the Village of Quincy as well as Quincy Township and Algansee Township.
The new fire truck was put into service two weeks ago but it caused some strained feelings in recent years with a couple of Association members.
Pierce Manufacturing made the only bid at over $712,000 and officials from Algansee and Butler Township were not happy only one bid was submitted.
Butler Township threatened to leave the Association but eventually the two sides managed to smooth things over.
With Algansee Township unwilling to pay for the acquisition of the truck, the agreement calls for the truck to belong to the Village of Quincy and Quincy Township if the Association dissolves.
The Village of Quincy and Quincy Township eventually agreed to a price of over $666,000 with Pierce Manufacturing for the truck.
