UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Union City captured a Division Four Team District wrestling title on their home mat Wednesday night.
The Chargers defeated Mendon in the district title match 39-32.
Union City advanced to the final by defeating Athens 60-16 in the semifinals.
Mendon won their semifinal match over Tekonsha 66-12.
The Chargers move on to the Team Regionals next Wednesday at Hudson where they will face Addison in the semifinals.
Bronson scored a pair of convincing wins as they captured the Division Four Team District title at Colon on Wednesday night.
The Vikings defeated the host Magi in the semifinals 63-9 before knocking off Branch County rival Quincy in the district finals 63-15.
Bronson wrestlers who won twice on Wednesday were Ben Modert, Preston Wronikowski, Ben Thomas Grate, Aricin Smith, Jared Shotzman, Craig Tappenden, Justin Blankenship, Blayn Gibson and Brady Long.
Quincy got their wins from Jacob Reif (103), Michael Daniels (145) and from Chandler Locke (171).
Just like Union City, the Vikings will be at the Hudson Team Regionals next Wednesday as they will face the host Tigers in the semifinals.
All of the regional winners advance to the state quaterfinals on February 28th at Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo.
