BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson Vikings reached the finals of their Polish Classic girls softball tournament on Saturday before they lost to Watervliet 3-2. The Vikings advanced to the finals by defeating Marshall 13-4.
Lynsey Smith was the winning pitcher against Marshall as she struck out five in three shutout innings. Addison Harris went the final four innings to earn the save.
Jaydn Cary had three hits including two doubles. Maddie Ratkowski and Brealyn Lasky both had two hits. Haylie Wilson and Kaylee Withington both had two RBI’s.
Ratkowski, Dekoda Kline, Withington and Harris all had two hits in the title game.
Bronson Coach Becky Gray said, “We came out ready to play today. I felt the second game was two good teams playing hard and we just fell a little short. I’m proud of the way the girls hit the ball today and how we continue to improve each game.”
Bronson now has a record of 23-8. They will host Quincy on Tuesday with first place in the Interstate 8 on the line as both teams are 12-0 in conference play.
