COLDWATER, MI. – (WTVB) – The Branch County Commission on Aging recently received a nearly $600 donation from the Coldwater Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary.
Eagles member Laura Fletcher chaired the committee that organized the fund raising.
The fundraiser was started by a donation from Eddie’s Stop-n-Go in Quincy who wanted to help families dealing with Alzheimer’s Disease. The Ladies Auxiliary conducted 50/50 raffles and other fundraisers to support the cause.
The Branch County Commission on Aging In-Home Services department provides homemaking, personal care, and respite services to Branch County seniors who are over the age of 60.
Respite care is a service that gives caregiver a break from their role of caring for a senior who requires constant supervision.
In addition to respite service in the home, the Branch County Commission on Aging helps pay for short-term stays in licensed nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
