BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – As part of the process the City of Bronson is going through to apply for a new infrastructure grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, a public hearing will be held during Monday night’s Bronson City Council meeting.
A pair of resolutions also have to be adopted by the Council for the C.D.B.G. Infrastructure and Resiliency Grant.
Working with the City’s engineers from Prein and Newhof, City Manager Brandon Mersman told the City Council last month that given the storm and sanitary sewer issues on South Ruggles Street, the road from US-12 south to Rudd Street and Compton Street (from Mowry to S. Ruggles St.) have been identified as the most urgent infrastructure project.
The project has been identified in an updated version of the City’s Capital Improvement Plan.
The cost is projected to be over $1.8 million with the grant covering over $1.3 million. The local match would be just under $441,000.
