JONESVILLE, MI (WTVB) – Two persons were killed late Thursday night when a fire broke out in a Jonesville home in Hillsdale County.
Jonesville Police say the victims were a 68-year-old woman and her 33-year-old handicapped son.
Both were found deceased inside of the home which is located in the 300 block of Murphy Street.
The cause of the fire, which was reported at about 11:00 p.m., is not known.
The Michigan State Police Fire Marshall division has been called in to assist with the investigation.
Jonesville firefighters were assisted by crews from Hillsdale and Litchfield.
The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department Victim Services Unit was also at the scene along with Jonesville Police and the Reading Emergency Unit.
