COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Board of Directors approved the purchase of a new wastewater lift station on Wednesday night which would replace the current one near the former Big Boy restaurant at a price of over $121,000.
The new above ground eight foot by 12 foot lift station is manufactured by Gorman and Rupp out of Mansfield, Ohio.
CBPU Director Jeff Budd says it would be the first above ground lift station in their system.
Work is scheduled to start in the spring. The old lift station had been scheduled and budgeted for replacement.
Budd says bids for the excavation and piping will be sent out in the near future.
The purchase agreement includes a five year warranty on the pump station and the fiberglass enclosure.
