QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – It’s been a mild winter but that won’t stop the 58th Annual Quincy Chain of Lakes Tip Up Festival from being held Saturday on Tip Up Island.
Organizers were keeping their fingers crossed on Wednesday that the forecast for up to four inches of snow over the next day comes true.
The festival is always held during the second weekend in February and has become a Branch County tradition dating back to the early 60’s.
One of the big highlights of the festival will be the 38th annual Polar Bear Splash at 12 noon.
Fishing contests, kids games and wood cutting contests will be held throughout the day.
The Fisherman’s Ball will run from 8:00 p.m. until midnight in the pavilion. Tickets are $10. You must 21 to attend and it’s BYOB. Pomegranate Whiskey will be providing the music.
Quincy High School freshman Madilyn Hayes is this years Tip-Up Queen.
The Tip-Up Mayor for 2020 is Peyton Gross while the Tip-Up Sheriff will be Alicia Gross.
