COLON, MI (WTVB) – Colon may be the magic capital of the world but there are no magic tricks available that will make the illnesses affecting Colon Community Schools students and staff go away.
Colon Schools will be closed Wednesday through Friday because of the percentage of absent students.
The closing for the rest of the week was made at the recommendation of the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency.
That will give the district a 5-day reprieve so that those affected by illness can get healthy.
All Colon School District athletic/extracurricular events and practices from Wednesday through Friday are also canceled.
That includes the varsity basketball games against Tekonsha. Both the girls game on Thursday night and the boys game for Friday night have been called off.
North Adams-Jerome Schools in Hillsdale County also had to shut down for a second straight day on Wednesday because of the number of illnesses affecting students and staff.
