COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A 76-year old Coldwater man was ordered to register as a sex offender on Monday in Branch County Circuit Court after he entered a no contest plea to fourth degree criminal sexual conduct.
In addition, David Howard McKay was placed on probation for five years and given a nine month jail sentence. He was given credit for one day served and all jail time over 90 days was suspended.
In exchange for his plea, prosecutors dismissed a third degree CSC charge.
McKay was also ordered to undergo treatment and testing as required and have no contact with the victim whatsoever. Under the court order, he can not come within 500 feet of her home, school or employment.
McKay was charged in connection with crimes that took place in March 2018 at an area business.
