COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council approved a resolution Monday night that begins the process so that the Corona Smoke Shop can secure a liquor license.
The premium smoke shop will be operating in the former Wilbur’s Furniture store.
Jason and Amanda Phebus of Parma bought the property with the goal of opening their sixth Corona Smoke Shop in Michigan.
The Corona Smoke Shop has made an investment of over $200,000 which makes the business eligible to obtain a liquor license.
City Manager Keith Baker says it’s similar to liquor licenses that have been obtained by the Tibbits Opera House and JT’s Billard Bar and Grill and this kind of license can not be transported.
It’s estimated the Corona Smoke Shop in Coldwater will be their largest if plans for a 5,000 square foot store go according to plan.
