COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Despite a shift from an Ice Fest to a Winter Fest theme, there were large crowds Saturday in downtown Coldwater to enjoy wood carving, sled dogs, homemade creative snowmen, and a very popular soup and chili cook-off.
Temperatures stayed just above freezing all afternoon, with some snow showers adding to the atmosphere.
An entry from Michigan Gas Utilities was the winner in the snowman contest, with ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital finishing second.
Coldwater Broadway Grille won the soup competition with their Cowboy Soup. JT’s Billiard Bar and Grill finished second with their Southwest Vegetable Beef Soup.
JT’s won the chili competition again this year, with their Hog Wild Chili, with a homemade chili served at the Coach Eby Youth and Family Center finishing second.
