GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WTVB) – In high gymnastics, Coldwater finished sixth Saturday at the Kenowa Hills Invitational.
Two Cardinals were honored with medals on the podium stand at the end of the meet. Sophomores Leah Goodwin and McKenna Hantz both earned honors for their vault performances.
Goodwin was second in the vault with a season-best score of 9.2. Hantz finished seventh with a personal best score of 8.9.
The top scores for Coldwater in the other events were Abby Travelbee on the balance beam, Goodwin in floor exercise while Travelbee and Goodwin led Coldwater on the uneven bars. Goodwin had the top score for Coldwater in the all around at 34.25
Additionally, Coldwater coach Kim Nichols was honored during the March In ceremony for her recent National Federation of High Schools award as the Michigan Gymnastics Coach of the Year.
The Cardinals will be at Parma Western Thursday for their next league match.
