COLDWATER, MI – (WTVB) – The Harper Creek Beavers never trailed on Tuesday night as they defeated the Coldwater Lady Cardinals 54-30 in an Interstate 8 contest at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium.
Harper Creek’s Abby Hicks hit back-to-back triples at the end of the first quarter and at the start of the second quarter to put Harper into a 13-4 lead.
Harper led 27-16 at the half and broke open the game in the third quarter as they outscored Coldwater 19-4.
Maddie Alexander scored a game-high 21 points for the Beavers while Hicks wound up with 18 points thanks to four first half triples.
Carlee Crabtree led Coldwater with nine points. The Cardinals are now 3-3 in the Interstate 8 and 4-7 overall.
Coldwater swept the underclassmen games over Harper Creek. Lily Gimenez scored 19 points as Coldwater won the J.V. game 45-35. Eliza Douglas scored 12 points as Coldwater took the freshman game 26-22.
