COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two suspects in an alleged pipe beating of a man were arrested late last week following a Coldwater Police Department investigation.
Police were dispatched on the morning of January fourth to the Emergency Room at ProMedcia Coldwater Regional Hospital for an assault & battery complaint.
A 29-year-old man told officers he was assaulted with a pipe in the 100 block of North Jefferson Street after being lured to a residence.
The investigation led to the arrest of a 32 year old Coldwater man at his home on Friday. The man was booked at the Branch County Jail and released on a $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear for an arraignment on February tenth in Branch County District Court.
The other suspect, 29 year old Alia Mallory of Coldwater, was arraigned over the weekend in Branch County District Court after she was booked at the Branch County Jail. Her bond was set at $20,000 with ten percent allowed.
She is not to have any contact with the alleged victim should she post bond. A probable cause hearing was scheduled for January 29, with a preliminary examaminatio set for February 4, 2020.
