KINDERHOOK TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Authorities have released the identity of the woman who was killed in a fire last Tuesday morning on the northwest side of Lake George.
Michigan State Police say the victim was Jane Hasselschwert. She died just a few weeks short of her 71st birthday.
It took almost two-and-a-half hours to bring the fire in Hasselschwert’s two story home at 1005 West Shore Drive under control.
Lakeland firefighters were initially dispatched. Crews from Bronson and Fremont, Indiana were called in for mutual aide.
The cause of the fire is not known but it is not considered suspicious.
