BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The weather was bad but it could have been a lot worse in Branch County this weekend.
A winter storm which moved in Friday night dropped three to four inches of wet snow during the overnight hours.
Temperatures then got above freezing for most of the day on Saturday as the precipitation switched to drizzle and light rain.
Once the temperatures dropped back below freezing, the slush on the ground froze up again.
The mercury dipped into the single digits on Sunday morning and highs in the afternoon were only in the mid teens.
Heavier amounts of snow fell to the north of Branch County on Saturday with several communities setting new snowfall records for the day.
