BATTLE CREEK, MI – (WTVB) – The City of Battle Creek announced on Wednesday that they will be seeking reimbursement of about $93,000 in costs in connection with President Trump’s campaign rally at Kellogg Arena on December 18th, 2019.
The city plans to submit a reimbursement request to the presidential campaign and other federal agencies.
The city said in a statement that the staff costs will comprise over 95 percent of the total. That includes police and fire staff as well as city building maintenance, Department of Public Works, Battle Creek Executive Airport at Kellogg Field and Battle Creek Transit.
The costs are seperate for the city owned Kellogg Arena which is operated by Cereal City Development Corporation. The arena costs came to $33,000. The presidential campaign signed a contract to hold the rally at the arena.
