Lynn D. “Lynnie” Ash, 59, of Girard, passed away at home unexpectedly of natural causes on Sunday, May 23, 2021, surrounded by family.
A memorial service will be held for him later this summer.
Lynnie was born on October 18, 1961 in Coldwater, Michigan to Leon and Georgia Ash. He was one of four siblings growing up in Girard, Michigan, where he remained most of his life. Lynnie lived his life his way. His passion was fishing and hunting and just being out in nature was so important to him. He loved every fishing and hunting season and knew when every one of them were. He taught his children the love of the sports and was overwhelmed with joy to see them get their first deer or turkey or catch their first fish, which carried onto his grandchildren.
Lynnie was a friend to everyone and a stranger to none. He often took people into his home and treated them as family. He loved with all of his heart, always giving and expecting nothing in return. His family was most important to him, first and foremost his children and grandchildren. But his sibling were his rock. He was always thinking of them and trying to help when he could.
He was the kind of person who never judged or held a grudge. He loved with all his heart and soul. He did have his faults, but those close to him still loved him through the hardest times of his very dark days with so much loss in his life.
Lynnie is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Cody and Ashley Ash of Tekonsha; grandchildren, Sonora Barrington of Tekonsha, Jax Barrington of Marshall and River Ash of Tekonsha; parents Leon and Georgia Ash of Girard; siblings, Leon “Pete” and Monica Ash, Tammie and Ken Vaughn and Randy and Shelly Ash, all of Girard; step-children Lisa Persails and Staci Persails of Coldwater; step-grandchildren, Grace and John Paul Thimlar and Emma Sexton; and great-granddaughter Marcella Hall of Coldwater, along with many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, whom he loved as his own children.
Preceding Lynnie in death were his wife, Marsha (Swan) Ash (2019); his daughter, Chelsie Ash (2018); and his step-granddaughter, Marissa Barry (2019).
Memorial donations are suggested to the family in care of Cody Ash.
