BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The City of Bronson will apply for a new infrastructure grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
The grant is called the Community Development Block Grant Infrastructure and Resiliency Grant.
Working with the City’s engineers from Prein and Newhof, City Manager Brandon Mersman told the Bronson City Council Monday night they have identified a storm, water, sewer and road project for this grant.
Mersman said given the storm and sanitary sewer issues on South Ruggles Street, this road from US-12 south to Rudd Street and Compton Street (from Mowry to S. Ruggles St.) have been identified as the most urgent infrastructure project based on the information gathered to date under the SAW Grant.
The project has been identified in an updated version of the City’s Capital Improvement Plan.
The cost is projected to be over $1.8 and the document has been updated to cover seven years.
With the Council approval of the updated Capital Improvement Plan, the City will move forward and apply for the infrastructure grant.
