OVID TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – At least three injury crashes were reported on Branch County roads during the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
The only injury accident handled by the Branch County Sheriff’s Department took place on Saturday afternoon on Centennial Road south of Lockwood Road at about 2:30 p.m..
The Sheriff’s Department says 51-year-old Gary Howard of Coldwater was driving his 1979 Harley Davidson Motorcycle south on Centennial when the front wheel become loose.
Deputies say Howard was able to lay the motorcycle down on its side but was injured in the mishap.
He was taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital for treatment.
The Sheriff’s Office were assisted by Life-Care Ambulance and the Lakeland Fire Department.
Michigan State Police were dispatched to two reported injury crashes on Sunday. One took place on I-69 near Fenn Road at about 1:30 a.m.. The other was on East Southern Road near Kelley Road on Sunday evening at about 6:20 p.m..
