James L. “Jim” Jeffrey, 73, of Quincy, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 27, 2021 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital surrounded by his wife and children.
Per Jim’s request cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation for James L. “Jim” Jeffrey will be held Sunday, June 6, 2021 at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
He was born on December 2, 1947 in Hudson to Walter L. Jeffrey and Harriett J. (Shoemaker) Jeffrey. Jim married Judy (Westgate) on December 27, 1969 and they were happily married for 51 years.
Jim attended Hudson High School and went on to serve his country in the United States ARMY. He retired from the Branch County Sheriff’s Department as the Undersheriff after 27 years with the department. Jim was a member of the Reading American Legion, Coldwater Eagles and Fremont Moose Lodge. Jim enjoyed golfing, hunting, going to car shows with his 1937 Plymouth, and spending time with friends and family. Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
In addition to his wife, Judy, Jim is survived by two daughters, Nichole (James) King of Parma, Angela Jeffrey of Jerome; two sons, Christopher Jeffrey of Quincy, Jason Jeffrey of Ft. Wayne; two sisters, Karen Fike, Brenda Gibson; five brothers, Bob (Joni) Jeffrey, Tom (Cleo) Jeffrey, Dan (Veronica) Jeffrey, Roger Terrill, Dennis (Cathy) Terrill; brother-in-law, Larry Whipple; four grandchildren, Andrew (Paige) King, Jimmy (Abby) King, Raegyn Jeffrey and Jayden Jeffrey; two great-grandchildren, Ryder King and Mason King; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Frank Terrill; one sister, Hazel Whipple and one brother, William Jeffrey.
