SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WTVB) – The season ended for the Quincy boys golf team on Wednesday as the Orioles finished eighth at the M.H.S.A.A. Division Three regional tournament hosted by South Haven at Hawkshead Golf Course.
The top three teams and top three individuals advance to next weekends M.H.S.A.A. State Finals.
The Orioles had a team score of 397 which 25 shots behind third place Parchment.
Quincy’s Brandt Neely led the Orioles with a round of 87 which was good enough for a 12th place finish in the individual standings. Neely was two strokes shy of a playoff to determine who qualifies for the state tournament.
Sam Sawyer was 30th with a 97. Brodie Mainstone had a 106 while Dave Milliman fired a 107.
Meanwhile, Union City did not have enough golfers to post a team score at the Division Four regional hosted by East Jackson at Calderone Golf Club in Grass Lake. Brayton Mears led the Chargers with a 110.
Coldwater will host a Division Two regional meet at the Coldwater Golf Course on Thursday.
