BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Five Branch County girls earned All-State honors by finishing in the top 10 in their events on Saturday in the M.H.S.A.A. Girls Lower Peninsula Track and Field Finals.
Coldwater’s Avery Boyce finished in a tie for tenth in the girls pole vault at the Division Two finals in Zeeland as she cleared nine feet, three inches.
Bronson’s Jenna Salek wrapped up an outstanding season with a pair of top five finishes at the Division Three finals at Jenison. She finished second in the 400 with a PR time of 57.14 which was over two seconds better than her seeded time. Salek was fourth in the 200 with a time of 26.15.
Three Quincy girls had top ten finishes. Raigan Horsfall had a big day as she was fourth in the discus with a distance of 112 feet, five inches and sixth in the shot put with a distance of 37 feet, three inches. Sophia Snellenberger was second in the discus with a distance of 121 feet, five inches while Anna Turner was sixth in the pole vault as she cleared nine feet, six inches.
In the final girls team standings, Quincy finished in a tie for 12th with 19 points while Bronson tied for 18th with 13 points.
