Shirley Ann Haver, 92, of Quincy, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services for Shirley Haver will be held Monday, June 14, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy with Pastor Mark Case officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 12 noon-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born December 1, 1928 in Detroit to Graydon and Clara (Cogswell) St. Croix. She married Kenneth Haver, Sr. on June 19, 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1981.
Shirley graduated high school in the eastern Detroit area in 1948. She retired from the Coldwater Regional Center where she was a direct care aide. Shirley also volunteered with Coldwater Hospice for over 25 years and was a life-time member of the Friends of the Library in Quincy. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Shirley was the ultimate caregiver, always putting others’ needs before her own.
Survivors include two daughters, Deb (Scott) Loomis and Sheri (Jeff) Brewer, both of Quincy; grandchildren, Michael Loomis, Christy (Travis) Hall, Nicole (Adam) Force, Michele (Brad) Russell and Corey (Erin) Brewer; great-grandchildren, Allyssah, Bradley, Rylan, Wyatt, Colton, Logan, Grady, Elly, Gavin, Kyha and Kaden; sisters, Rose (Al) Rosina, Carol Cliff, Darlene Gillette and Ruth (Don) Waldenmayer; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Haver, Sr.; son, Kenneth “Hot Dog” Haver, Jr.; daughter, Kay Crow; brothers, Ron and Grayden St. Croix, and Clifton and Calvin Scheall; and sister, Karon Stokes.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Sons of the American Legion or to the family.
