Michael Lee Denison, 49, of Coldwater and formerly of Reading, passed away Monday, June 14, 2021 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
Funeral services for Michael Denison will be held Monday, June 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading with Pastor Chip Faulkner officiating. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born November 29, 1971 in Hillsdale to Jerry and Susan (Roost) Denison, and they both survive.
Mike graduated from Reading High School in 1990 and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Hillsdale College in 1995. He worked at Reading and Camden BP and most recently he was the marketing coordinator at Razorbak Outdoors in Reading.
Mike was an avid Reading Ranger athlete and fan. He helped coach the Reading Junior High football teams for many years. He also kept the time clock for Reading JV and Varsity home football games. He was extremely proud to be in attendance at the 2018 and 2019 State Championship games at Ford Field where the Rangers won. He also was a huge Star Wars fan and often attended the midnight showings for the movie premiers.
Survivors include his parents, Jerry and Susan Denison; brother, Mitchell (Chrystal) Denison of Reading; sister, Michelle Johnson of Fort Wayne. His pride and joy were his nieces and nephews, Kelsie, Lacey, Dilon and Keven Denison and Hannah Johnson; great-niece and nephew, Lane and Londyn Champion. He also leaves behind aunts, an uncle, cousins, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, uncle, and great-nephew, Liam Gaskill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Century Bank & Trust in Reading for the Michael Denison Athletic Scholarship which will be awarded to a Reading High School senior athlete.
