ANN ARBOR, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Hundreds of former University of Michigan football players accusing the late Dr. Robert Anderson of sexual abuse are now being joined by at least 20 men’s basketball players from the 1960s through the 1980s.
Attorney Ven Johnson says some of his clients are “highly recognizable names” and says coach Dave Strack in the 1960s had the same reaction as football coaches, which was to laugh it off. But Johnson says the focus should not be on the former coaches and instead on why Anderson was able to stay employed at U of M for decades when people knew what he was doing.
