Charles M. “Charlie” Adolph, 80, of Union City, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Grand Vista of Marshall 2, under the care of Elara Caring Hospice.
A public graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2021 at Riverside Cemetery in Union City, with Pastor Marty Burdick of the Union City Wesleyan Church officiating.
Public visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Charlie was born August 15, 1940 in Sturgis, Michigan to Edward and Alice (Little) Adolph II. He attended Union City High School, graduating in 1958. In 1960, he married the former Emily Unroe. They just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.
Charlie lived his entire life in Union City, where he attended the Wesleyan Church. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator at the MDOT truck garage, served as Riverside Cemetery Sexton for Union Township, and did backhoe work and farmed on the side.
He is survived by his wife, Emily; his sons, Mike (Sandy) Adolph of Coldwater and David Adolph of Union City; grandchildren, Michelle (Todd) Moss of Fremont, IN, Stacy (fiancé Shawn Patton) Adolph of Quincy and Melissa (Michael) Smiths of Bronson; eight great-grandchildren, Aubrie, Brayleigh, Brayton, Ella, Keitaviyan, Liam, Reid and Evelyn; and a brother, Richard (Linda) Adolph of Battle Creek.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and his brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Sue Adolph III.
