COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Ponderosa restaurant at 411 East Chicago is open for business but their hours are limited as at least two employees have tested positive for COVID-19.
The restaurant posted on its Facebook page that they have had a number of exposures that they had to quarantine from their schedule leaving them with a limited crew and that was, “important for us to take care of our team.”
Ponderosa management closed the restaurant for dinner this past Monday night and did not reopen until 4:00 p.m. Tuesday in order to give their crew time “to physically and mentally recoup. We have been so thankful to the efforts of our team that this is the first time throughout the last year we have had to alter our hours.”
Those workers who have not been exposed are picking up extra shifts and being flexible according to management.
Community Health Agency Health Officer Rebecca Burns says concerned Ponderosa customers who are not vaccinated against COVID-19 should call the Health Department and ask for a case investigator. They should also monitor themselves for symptoms and get tested for the virus if they feel it’s necessary.
