Free testing and shots scheduled after announcement of Faster Horses COVID-19 cases

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services confirmed at least 23 cases of COVID-19 that were traced to the Faster Horses Festival held July 16-19 at Michigan International Speedway.

The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency has announced they will be offering free testing and vaccinations for those who attended the festival.

Testing will be offered Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. in the Branch County Sheriff’s Office parking lot at 580 Marshall Road. There will also be testing on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., at the Hillsdale office at 20 Care Drive and at the Three Rivers office at 1110 Hills Street.

Testing will continue on Thursdays through August at the Coldwater office and on Fridays at the Hillsdale and Three Rivers offices.

You can also get COVID-19 vaccinations on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Coldwater United Methodist Church and on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the agency’s office at 570 Marshall Road.

Vaccination opportunities will also be available in Hillsdale and St. Joseph Counties this week.
