COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County government boards have been told by County Administrator Bud Norman to go back to virtual meetings.
Norman says in a brief statement, “Effective immediately the County is temporarily transitioning to virtual meetings. We will keep you updated as to when this will transition back to the hybrid model.”
Norman made the announcement following the surge of COVID-19 cases in Branch County over the last couple of weeks.
Between July 24 and July 30, the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Commnunity Health Agency reported 78 new COVID-19 cases in Branch County compared to 49 cases between July 17 and July 23.
After meeting via Zoom since March of 2020, Branch County Commissioners had just resumed hybrid and in person meetings when the COVID-19 numbers started to go back up.
