COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Old U.S. 27 Motor Tour will be held once again between August 23 and 28 but without its founder.
Craig Parrish died in hospice care on July 29 at the age of 67 after he was diagnosed with lung cancer.
He posted on the tour’s Facebook page just 10 days before he passed away that, “I had a good 15 year run with the tour. Many good times, friendships made…It was my pleasure to be your leader for years…God bless you all and the 27 Motor Tour.”
His companion Kim Davis told the Lansing State Journal, “Craig had a vision to have a rolling car show. He had a vision of old cars and people getting together”.
Davis along with Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau President and C.E.O. Julie Pingston are planning this years event.
The five day tour is scheduled to start in Coldwater and wind its way north on Old U.S. 27 before ending in Cheboygan.
