COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – While over 1,700 customers in the Branch County area got their power restored by Consumers Energy Monday, the utility says another 2,258 remain in the dark as of 4:00 a.m. Tuesday.
That number represents 14.6 % of their total customers in Branch County.
That list includes the studios of WTVB on North Angola Road in Coldwater Township. The Consumers Energy Outage Map now lists estimated restoration for the area around the radio station as 11:30 p.m. Tuesday August 17.
Branch, St. Joseph, Hillsdale and Jackson counties experienced significant damage from a severe thunderstorm that roared through southern Michigan Thursday morning.
Statewide, 9,157 customers were still without power early Tuesday.
Thousands of workers, including contractors from seven states, have worked since late Tuesday to restore power to all 370,000 homes and businesses that lost power.
