DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Bally Sports Detroit is suspending Detroit Tigers Hall of Famer Jack Morris indefinitely after offensive comments toward Shohei Ohtani during a broadcast Tuesday.
Morris was apparently trying to imitate an accent when asked how Detroit should pitch to Ohtani. Morris apologized for his comment during the game and again later.
However the network says they have a zero-tolerance policy and will give Morris bias training and other education to help him understand the impacts of his comments.
The Tigers released a statement supporting Morris’ suspension.
