Philip H. Hoard, 87, of Coldwater, Michigan, formerly of Bronson, Michigan went to be with his Lord and Savior August 19, 2021 at Masonville Place in Coldwater.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
A memorial service will be held September 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Texas Corners Bible Church, 7780 South 8th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009.
Philip was born January 31, 1934 in Bronson to Clair & Wilma (Niehardt) Hoard. He served in the US Army during the Korean War era. Philip married Dixie L. Kehoe on February 2, 1957 in Bronson.
Philip worked for many years at Douglas Autotech in Bronson before going to work for La-Mann Corp in Angola, Indiana. He moved to Florida when the company relocated and served 6 years as Chief Operating Officer until his retirement. Philip and his wife spent several years in Portage, Michigan, locating there in 2001, after his retirement.
Philip was a member of Texas Corners Bible Church, past president of Bronson Rotary, served on the Branch County planning commission, and a Junior Achievement advisor. He and Dixie enjoyed their travels to Germany, Ireland, and they were a host for the sister-city exchange between Coldwater and Soltau, Germany. Philip was a skilled woodworker, mechanic, and loved home improvement projects. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Philip is survived by his wife Dixie, his children Karie (Dave) Gilbert of Coldwater, Kaniah (Paul) Wanar of Coldwater, Kalon (Laura) Hoard of Deland, Florida, his half-brother Wayne Hoard of Kentucky, sister-in-law Lorraine Hoard, his grandchildren Jenna (Nick) Dennany, Jonathan Tackwell, Amber (Jeremy) Knox, Ashley (Rick) Hewitt, Austin (MacKenzie) Wanar, Adrian Wanar, Aaron Hoard, Maura Hoard; great grandchildren Rowan, Colton, Jensen, Eli, Jocelyn and Casey.
He was preceded in death by his brother Dale E. Hoard and granddaughter Abigail Hoard.
