COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch Intermediate School District Superintendent Kris Jenkins and C.T.E. Assistant Superintendent Randy Sowles had a lot of good news about the renovation project at the Branch Area Careers Center during Wednesday’s B.I.S.D. Board of Education meeting.
Jenkins credited the project’s construction manager with getting the building ready for the state of the school year and the arrival of students.
The plan review has been approved which led to the State of Michigan issuing permits.
The project fell behind schedule due in part to snafus in getting the permits from the State of Michigan since February.
Sowles thanked his B.A.C.C. staff for their flexibility.
The work will include the installation of a new elevator, creating new classrooms in an existing mezzanine, adding a new counseling suite and reworking the existing kitchen.
In other business, the board approved the hiring of Shawn Hulin to serve as Construction Trades Program Manager and Theresa Gage who will be a Program Manager for Tot Spot/Education Professions.
