COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A 29-year-old Litchfield man who was wanted in Hillsdale County on a theft charge was taken into custody in Coldwater Friday morning during a traffic stop.
The Michigan State Police say troopers searched the vehicle and found over 25 grams of methamphetamine and stolen tools in his 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee after it was stopped at around 2:00 a.m. for equipment violations.
A 28-year-old female passenger from Hillsdale was eventually released from the scene.
The driver was lodged at the Branch County Jail on local charges and a hold was placed by Hillsdale County.
The matter is still under investigation and the driver’s name will be withheld until after his arraignment.
