QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – In Branch County high school sports from over the weekend, in Boys basketball on Saturday afternoon, Quincy lost its home opener with the Orioles falling 40-37 to Addison. The non-conference loss dropped the Orioles record to 1-1. Quinn Eifird led Quincy in scoring with 10 points while Brandon Gary had 11 rebounds. The Orioles play their Big 8 Conference opener at home Thursday night against Homer.
Saturday was a busy day for wrestling. Coldwater started it season and suffered two losses at the Brooklyn Columbia Central Invitational, falling 32-24 to Sand Creek and 34-31 to Williamston. Bronson took first place at the Lansing Eastern Invitational with 13 teams in the tournament. Chase Gibson went 3-0 on the day at 189 pounds. And Quincy had a 1-3 record at the Onsted Invitational with a win over Webbeville while losing to Clinton, Onsted, and White Pigeon.
