COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County’s record breaking warm mid-December weather over the weekend will be making a slow departure this week with no more record high temperatures in sight although above normal readings are still expected through Wednesday. Saturday’s high temperature in Coldwater was 63 degrees, breaking the record high for December 12 of 62 set back in 1949.
Sunday’s high of 62 tied the record high for December 13 recorded in 1975. The topsy-turvey weather was in evidence yesterday as most of lower Michigan mid-day Sunday was warmer than the temperatures at that time in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Phoenix.
In the middle of December, there’s appears to be no snow on the ground anywhere in the state.
