COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – An Indiana man has been formally charged in connection with braking into a Coldwater home on June 4 and taking three marijuana plants.
Following a Coldwater Police Department investigation, 24-year-old Dakota Lewis Lytle of Fremont has been charged with second degree home invasion after he allegedly broke into a home in the 200 block of West Pearl Street.
Court documents say the front door of the residence was broken while the back door was left wide open. The break in was reported to Coldwater Police by a neighbor.
Lytle was arraigned in Branch County District Court last Friday where he waived a formal reading of the charges.
Bond was set at $35,000 with ten percent allowed. He would be able to live in Indiana should he post bond. In addition, Lytle was told if he should post bond he could not contact the alleged victim or be on the property where the break in place.
A probable cause hearing was scheduled for next Tuesday with a preliminary exam on October 5.
