COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Both of the Legg Middle School seventh grade girls volleyball teams defeated Parma Western on Tuesday night.
The A team defeated Parma 25-20 25-23 13-15. At the service line, Legg was led by Brooklyn Closson who was 18-19 with 13 aces followed by Jukianna Cowles 6-6 1 ace, T.K. Boyd 7-9 5 aces, Katie Senyk 5-7 4 aces, Cam Cockrell 6-7 , Khloe Wohlgamuth 2-3, Khloe Tyler 2-2 & Isabella Angevine & Aubrey Gebbink 2-4. Cowles had 11 digs to lead Coldwater followed by Suri Stout with 6 digs, Senyk 4 digs, Closson, Gebbink & Tyler 3 digs each. Brooklyn Closson & T.K. Boyd each had 4 kills followed by Katie Senyk 2 kills & Cowles 1 kill.
The B team fought back after losing the first set 25-20 to win the next two games 25-19 and 16-14. Legg was led by Hailey Winkleman who was 13/15 in serving with 8 aces, Ella Thompson serving 11/12 with 2 aces, Aivry Chavez serving 7/7 with 1ace, Kinley Brown serving 6/6, Savannah Hayward serving 4/7 with 1ace, Kinley Cummings serving 3/4 and Marie Powers had 1 kill.
