PARCHMENT, MI (WTVB) – Despite the soggy conditions, the Bronson boys cross country team brought home their second championship trophy within a week on Wednesday as they won the Parchment Invitational.
The Vikings had four runners in the top 17 spots and five in the first 26 finishers as they edged Berrien Springs by three points for first place, 68-71. Kalamazoo Christian was third with 80 points. Quincy finished in eighth place but the Orioles Rhett Reif shined individually as he was second in a time of 16:57.84.
Bronson’s Aden Hathaway was sixth in a time of 18:05.83. His teammate Reagan Mayer was seventh while Tanner Norton was 16th, Brayden Ransbottom was 17th and Perry Lake was 26th.
Quincy finished fifth in the girls meet. Charlotte Crabbs was 16th in a time of 23:02.03. Sadie Miller was 30th.
Bronson did not have enough runners for a team score. Sidney Swick was 12th as she had a season-best time of 22:23.19.
