COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Community Schools has scheduled an open house at the new Lakeland Elementary School for next Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m..
District parents, guardians, students, employees and community members are invited to tour the new Lakeland Elementary at 235 Western Avenue.
Those who attend can also meet with Superintendent Terry Whelan regarding a pair of bond proposals that will appear on the November 2 ballot.
The first proposal would be for a $50 million bond to finance a 20,000 square foot expansion at Coldwater High School as well as for renovations to the building. School officials say there would no additional millage for taxpayers and the work would be done in stages.
The second proposal would be for a $17 million bond plus a point-39 mill increase for a 950 seat auditorium at the high school.
