COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Union City woman is facing three felony charges after she allegedly was in possession of methamphetamine and a stun gun when she was stopped by the Michigan State Police on Tuesday in Union Township.
41-year-old Amy Nicole Harmon was arraigned Wednesday in front of Branch County District Court Judge Brent Wiegle after her arrest by the State Police on charges of delivering or manufacturing methamphetamine, being a prisoner in possession of contraband and being in possession of a taser.
According to court documents, after M.S.P. Trooper Jacob Sherwood placed her in custody for having an operable stun gun, a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of scales, a large amount of cash in numerous denominations and a pipe with white residue.
During a search at the jail before Harmon was lodged, Branch County Corrections Officers found numerous small baggies containing a substance which field tested positive for methamphetamine. A broken pipe used to ingest drugs was also found.
Bond was set at $35,000 during the arraignment, a not guilty plea was entered and the public defender’s office was assigned the case.
A probable cause hearing was scheduled for September 30 with a preliminary exam set for October 7.
