BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – In Branch County high school sports, there were no varsity events on the schedule Thursday for the second straight day but tonight, Bronson begins its girls basketball season with a BCS Conference game at Cassopolis.
Bronson starts out with a new head coach as former Vikings’ boys varsity coach Tony Lasky takes over the post. Lasky returns to the Bronson bench after taking off the last 3 years and replaces Andy Hatt.
The boys basketball season in Michigan tips off next week when the wrestling season also gets underway.
In middle school sports, in Boys basketball last night, the Bronson 8th grade team lost 42-14 at Centreville with 10 points for Graham Eley. In the 7th grade action, Centreville hit a shot with 3 seconds left to pull out a 29-27 win over Bronson. Connor Covey scored 11 points, while Noah Houtz had 8 and Mason Harris had 4. The 7th graders record is now 5-4 and they will host Schoolcraft Monday night at Bronson’s Chicago Street School.
