COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In Branch County high school sports, there were no events happening yesterday and it’s the same for today as the transition from the fall to winter season schedule started this week with Girls basketball. Tomorrow night, Bronson begins its season in Girls hoops with a BCS Conference game at Cassopolis. The action picks up next week when Boys basketball tips off and the wrestling season also gets underway.
In middle school sports yesterday, in Boys basketball, it was a win at home for the Coldwater 8th grade B team over Pennfield while the 7th grade teams dropped their games at Pennfield. The Cardinals beat the Panthers in the 8th grade contest 46-8 with 14 points for Grey Skudlarick and a team-high 9 rebounds for Dustin Musall.
Pennfield won the 7th grade A game 47-27. Spencer Rodesiler had 8 points while Bradey Moore added 6 points and 7 rebounds. The Cardinals lost the B game 44-14. Sterling Haylett had 4 points and 10 rebounds and Luke Larr added 12 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 points.
