COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Slick roadways that developed Wednesday evening in Branch County led to a rash of accidents including a half dozen crashes along I-69 near Coldwater with several rollovers that all happened between 8:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.Wednesday.
A passenger in one of the cars from Ft. Wayne had injuries that required her to be transported to the Community Health Center of Branch County for treatment. The SUV the woman was riding in left the highway close by to where a Coldwater Police cruiser and Coldwater Fire Department truck were parked as they were checking out the first rollover that happened only a few minutes earlier.
The crashes occurred on southbound I-69 just south of U.S. 12. Minor injuries were reported in a couple of the other accidents but no one had to go to the hospital. The light dusting of snow yesterday that contributed to the slippery driving conditions is still causing potentially hazardous road conditions this morning, especially on bridges and overpasses.
