QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – It’s been a good year so far for Quincy High School’s Quiz Bowl team. After recently qualifying for the semi-finals of the WKAR-TV, East Lansing “Quiz Busters” program, the team captured the Big Eight Conference Quiz Bowl championship last weekend at Union City High School.
The Quincy squad defeated Concord, Athens, and Union City in the preliminary rounds, then topped Homer 340-210 in the championship round. The team consisted of Jared Brown, Shane Tribble, Connor Michael, Adam Oberlitner, and team captain Joe Oberlitner. Quincy is coached by Kevin Paradine. This is their second straight varsity championship, and they won the junior varsity Quiz Bowl championship two years ago. By winning the varsity competition Quincy High School now qualifies for the State Finals to be held in April at Michigan State University. They will take on Hillsdale Academy in the next round of the “Quiz Busters” television show Tuesday, December 1.
