READING, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Rotary Club has come to the aid of the Kimball Camp YMCA Nature Center near Reading after the August 12 storm knocked down or damaged over 1,000 trees.
A $5,000 check was presented this week to Kimball Executive Director Tyler Tracy to help with the clean up effort.
Fund raising to help the camp recover from the devastating storm continues. If you can help, make your check out to KIMBALL YMCA CAMP and mail it to 4502 Berlin Drive. Reading, Mi. 49274
The Hillsdale County facility was still holding its summer camp when the storm struck but no campers or staff were injured.
Because of the destruction and loss of electricity, the camp cancelled the rest of its summer programs.
Camp officials said at the time of the storm that their insurance will only pay for tree removal if the tree is actually on a structure.
